thought of sharing this poem which i came across…

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Hello Fellas…. it’s a new year time…

time of the year were you make resolutions, and try not to forget them in coming days. i have been a following this “resolution approach” since last couple of year and to my surprise being pretty much successful in it. 🙂

so here is the list for 2011, 2011 is got loads of thing in store for me in all aspect of life.

i usually have changed the approach of “resolution” to a bucket list approach. that means things to do before end of 2011. most of this things are small small changes which bring out big change in your life and also once completed you sense of completeness / achievement.

ok enough beating round the bush…

list is something like this :

  1. Look forward for the next phase in my professional career, try to concentrate more on the domain / technology and always have an ear open on the activities going around. till this year i believed in “knowledge is power” but i have slightly tweaked this in “imagination is the real power”  knowledge gives us the necessary input for imagination.
  2. Personal front, keep maintaining the health relationship with all the people. concentrate that the distance does not becomes a barrier between any relationship. Also as into the courtship period enjoy the sweet moments with my sweetheart !!
  3. Explore Canada:  it is pretty much sure that i will be in canada for 2011, so it is time when i explore canada and it’s awesome surroundings. This task has got lots of sub task associated with itself.  like driving a mustang, driving to banff, going to US, watching a grand prix in montreal. and many more….
  4. Scotland…. yes scotch. recently visited my clients place and got introduce to the world of scotch realized the passion people have for it, preserving the drink for 16 years and then serving it… trying out different scotch and the science, the passion, the technique associated with it … so Cheers !!!
  5. Being from a Brahman family consuming meat is against our culture, i some how got addicted to this meat and i am very fond of it.  but somewhere i realized that this is not the way ahead. So planning to quit meat and becoming into a vegetarian once again.
  6. last but not least. keep the glass empty so that new things can be absorbed easily, keep track of “I” factor, exercise your body and mind, high impact communication, listening to quality music, watching classic movies, not getting addicted to FB, watching loads and loads of wild life documentaries, watching planet earth “BBC”

OMG loads of thing to do, miles to go before i sleep, miles to go before i sleep….

“giving so much time to yourself that you dont have time to think / criticize others”

Have a redefining 2011.

Cheers !!!!

Recently I had been to a Greek restaurant, and people there were breaking the plates, I asked the few people around and got to know about this interesting tradition in Greek people of “broken plate”

thought it is interesting, got this information on eHow, sharing it here….

The Greek Wedding Tradition of Breaking Plates

Break plates for good luck.
The Greek wedding ritual of breaking plates is believed to have evolved from an ancient custom. In earlier times, newlyweds broke plates in the doorway of their new home, as this was believed to ward off evil spirits. Over the years, the tradition has evolved into the breaking of plates during the wedding reception.

Good Fortune
Newlyweds smash plates on the floor after the wedding celebration, as guests join in choruses of “Oopah!” to wish them good luck in their new life ahead. The ritual also symbolizes abundance. According to mygreektravels.com, to the Greek, it’s like saying, “We have so many plates we can break them!”, a tradition which is very much similar to lighting a fire using paper money.
Token of Love
In earlier times, lovers used to break plates in half when they had to part ways. This was so they could recognize each other by matching the two halves upon meeting again even after several years. Today, in homage of this tradition, jewelers create small split versions using Phaistos disks so lovers can wear one half each.
Traditions

According to ibreakplates.com, the tradition of breaking plates in praise of a musician or dancer is deemed to be part of “kefi”–the irrepressible expression of emotion and joy. It is also customary to break plates during artistic performances as a way to protect the artists (musicians and dancers) from the malevolent spirits that may be present.
Origins
One belief regarding the custom of breaking plates is that it sprang from an ancient tradition of breaking ceramic plates when someone dies, so as to break the cycle of death in the family. Another belief is that people began to break plates during joyful celebrations (since breaking things is more commonly associated with anger and violence) in order to fool wicked spirits into believing it was a violent event and thus, drive them away.
Modern Times
Most areas in contemporary times require a license for the breaking of plates ritual in public places. This is to prevent injury among the customers and to protect restaurant owners from expensive lawsuits that might result from such incidence. In modern Greece, several dining places and wedding reception halls are encouraging the throwing of flowers as an alternative to breaking plates, as this is much cheaper and easier to clean up.

to update my blog

i think i should i should start it all over again…… hope this time it will be something which @ least my friends find intersting….

The Man in the Glass

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to a mirror and look at yourself,
And see what That man has to say.

For it isn’t your wife or family or friend
Who judgement upon you must pass;
The man whose verdict counts most in the end
Is the one staring back from the glass.

Some people may think you a straight-shootin’ chum
and call you a person of place
But the man in the glass says you’re only a bum
If you can’t look him straight in the face.

He’s the man to please, never mind all the rest
For he’s with you clear up to the end,
And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass.

Will 2009 be better than 2008

want to make a lot of money! So I am always curious to learn more about money, earning more and managing the money

The Basics

  • If you don’t control money, it will most definitely control you.
  • Money is not the root of all evil; the love for money is.
  • More often than not, the more successful people in life, those who are well-educated, are those who are poor at managing their finances.

The five lessons are:

  1. Decide to Be Wealthy,
  2. Take Responsibility for Your Money,
  3. Keep a Portion of Everything You Earn
  4. Win in the Margins
  5. Give Back
